Relative Performance:

  • Group the third-best major S&P sector in 2021 up by 33% so far. Feels like a big move is coming within the group with this digestion since early summer continuing.

Individual Names:

  • ETF put up back-to-back 3% plus WEEKLY advancers last couple weeks, but it was preceded by 3 week losing streak weeks ending between 9/24-10/8 that dropped by a combined 5%. Stay constructive above 50 day SMA as investors search for yield. Consider SPG which rose nearly 10% last couple of weeks besting XLRE by a good margin.

  • Name playing catch up within space 6% off most recent 52 week highs, while XLRE just 2% off its own. Good move Friday to climb back above 50 day, and rose nearly 6% last week nearly doubling that of XLRE.

Alternatives:

  • Strong action with a breakout in the group and last couple weeks have been very kind to the stock up 12%. The difference to me was the relative strength the week ending 10/8 where PLD rose almost 2% and XLRE fell by .7%.
