Discount Delight?
Within the discount bunch, Wednesday witnessed plenty of names coming to life within the discretionary space. ROST is still below its 200-day SMA but rose more than 6% as it CLOSED above the very round 90 number. WMT is still making higher lows since the 5/20 session and is now back above the gap fill from the 8/15 session. TGT is still 37% off most recent 52-week highs but has found some comfort at its 50-day SMA which is now curling higher. TJX is higher 7 of the last 9 weeks and is up nearly 4% this week headed into Thursday. BURL is a laggard 52% off its annual peak, and like NVDA has traded from a high near 340 to current PRICES near the 140 number and Wednesday recorded a bullish engulfing candle. DLTR is breaking ABOVE a bear flag pivot and we know from FALSE moves come fast moves in the opposite direction. Below is the chart of the former leader in the group in OLLI and it is attempting to make some amends from technical damage. The stock registered a powerful 5 of 7 week winning streak weeks ending between 5/27-7/8 with 3 of the gainers up at least 13% and the other 2 up 8 and 9%. Look for this name to make a spirited run higher into year-end.
